I currently get $55 an hour as an independent consultant. I
live in the Pittsburgh area, and am at the lower end of the price
range. Most companies that sell technical services in this area
charge more than that for long term contracts that last several
months. A one day job bills in the $100 an hour range and up if you
go through a company.
