[WinMac] Has anyone seen this?

        Hi,

        I went to a client today who is running Office 98 on about 20 Macs
running systems from 7.5.3 to 8.5.1. All of them were suffering from the
same fault. If you were to click on a menu it would take a seconds for the
menu to come up. Just long enough for you to click again and so the menu
would come up and go. Very annoying.

        As you clicked on the menu the network arrows would appear. It
didn't matter if the job were opened from the server or the local hard disk.

        They have 3 shares on their NT server and if you were to log off
one particular share (cake) the problem would go away.

        It turned out to be the "remember the last 9 (default) jobs
preference." If this was turned off the problem would go away. The catch
was, if you just threw the preferences away the problem would go, but
slowly come back. I also turned off the WYSIWYG fonts for good measure.

        All the 8.5 Office's were patched. I wonder if anyone else had seen
this. Is it an NT thing or just a server in general thing.

        Any comments would be welcome.
