I "ran" the BackOffice Small Business (Exchange) NT4 server at a small,
22 user company. I donšt care how good the hardware is (Dell high end
server) ... you can have problems with any of it. And the software was
definitely overkill. I'm not sure if at 60 people the software overhead
overcomes the service advantage or not -- frankly I don't want to find
out.

On the other side of the office I ran a Mac based list server on my
persoanl desktop no frills Power Computing clone machine for well over a
year with no problems or maintenance issues. In fact, I had the NT
server forward all of my incoming e-mail back to my ISP and into my
personal account since the NT server was so unreliable, and it seemed
that when we needed most to send or receive e-mail was when the server
was down - the Mac saved the day many times.

I used Dave to connect to the network to access shared drives and network
printers with no problems there.

So when I started my own Internet Information business in January with
investor's cash - what did I do? Didn't buy new Intel based hardware -
just kept on using the old faithful Mac hardware.

By the way ... I haven't figured out how the color or look of the case
affects performance.

Just my 2 cents,
Dean
