        Good evening!

        I'll reply inline to the list, since I assume you want the "lurkers" to
kick in as well...

        I assume you mean that you have NT forwarding (routing) IP, and not
AppleTalk, packets...

        A) Do you NEED NT to route, and if so are you using the industrial
strength MPR Router? If you don't NEED NT to route, simplify the
installation with a hardware bridge to break your LAN into segments;

        B) How long do you wait during the hanging before resetting? If there are
hundreds of user accounts it can take a while for NTFS to verify everything;

        C) Did you shut down Traverse Checking? This is a BIG time waster, as long
as you don't REALLY need auditing:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\NtfsDisableLa
stAccessUpdate
REG_DWORD=1

        I agree on this one; although it's not as severe as it used to be as long
as you check the option in the "General Controls" Control Panel to warn if
the machine was shut down improperly... This forces Dik First Aid
(hopefully the VERY latest version) to run after an ABEND.
