Heh. That's funny. That reminds me of what happened when i tried to
use PINE (an IMAP-compatible mail client that's popular in text-only
Unix environments) to connect to an Exchange server.

i saw the Calendar and Contacts folders as well, but yeah, then they
ended up looking just like a mailbox.

Leave it to Microsoft to implement IMAP in such a half-assed manner.

(Of course, in their defense, there *isn't* an IMAP-standard way
of getting to a calendar or contact information, but it's pretty
ridiculous that the Mac Outlook team couldn't get access to whatever
weird specification the Windows Outlook/Exchange programmers have
devised for accessing that information.)

At any rate, a quick dig through the archives (www.darryl.com/winmac)
would seem to indicate that the Mac Outlook client included in Service
Pack 2 (for Exchange Server) is much improved. And here's the
knowledgebase spiel about it from:
