i have a frined who needs to transfer about 2gigs of targa images from
his dell over to his mac. they both have ethernet cards, so i was
going to suggest useing a ethernet crosover cable and getting them to
talk over tcp/ip, and useing something like a demo version of Dave, or
setting up an ftp on one of the computers and upping, or downloading
the files from the other computer, he has almost zero cash for this,
and floppies would take about two years to accomplish this. any idea
if this idea would work? i think he's got winNT workstation on his
dell. my guess would be that you could just set the ip of one of them
to 123.123.123.123, then have the other try to access the ftp site at
123.123.123.123. any thoughts? an easier way perhaps?
