I use a utility named "RUB", but I don't know if it actually works.
I use it because it is small enough to fit on a DOS boot disk along
with a couple basic utilities. I have never met the author or seen a
code review.

For a personal laptop I would delete whatever files I wanted to go
away then wipe free space with PGP. This is what I usually do before
I wipe and format with RUB.
