I agree with your statement, when the CD is created on the WIN side and
brought to Mac, you will see 8.3.

If, however, you create the CD on the *Mac*, using Toast, creating a Hybrid
Mac/ISO CD with Joliet naming enabled, you will see 31 character names on
the Mac and long filenames on WIN. :-)
