I'm using a Ditto drive and Iomega software off their web site. It
allows for some fairly decent automation of the backup as well and has a
disaster recovery diskette you can build.

The problem with Windows is restoring the drive from a total meltdown.
As you know from a Mac you can boot the machine from a variety of sources
and simply reformat and restore the drive from your backup. Under
windows you need to do this same type of thing from DOS -OR- install some
form of windows on the machine, boot into that, and then run your
restore. I've found invariably that something always gets lost.

The disaster recovery diskette I mentioned can restore an entire hard
drive, but the last time I had to use it it took 36 hours to restore a 2G
hard drive......

Obviously, I am interested in other solutions as well.
