Not that any of this actually has anything to do with the purpose of the
list, but this is actually a marketing vs. accounting issue. Marketing
will tell you everything is always newer, better product; accounting will
tell you everything is always cheaper product, more cost effective to
produce. See Dilbert cartoons for a decent caricature of these two
departments.
