If it isn't a cost issue then they would include it. However I imagine it
is, that floppy drive cannot be near as cheap as the PC ones. I once saw
someplace where the same disk drive manufactured by Sony cost about $40 in
the store for the PC version and $100 for the Mac version. Obviously
vendors get them cheaper, I have seen just a PC disk drive in stores for
$20, so they probably cost PC vendors less than $10 each, but the equivalent
drive for a Mac is probably more around $30.

Well as I posted I think yesterday, the floppy drive saved me once
yesterday, and if it is a $10 option, I would take that.
