It's an IEEE standard proposed and *invented* by Apple, so what if it's a
standard? ASCII is also a standard treated differently in different
platforms. I don't understand your point about it being an IEEE standard.
Does that mean it's more accesible to any platform? Just because it's an
IEEE standard doesn't mean everyone will adopt it...
