[WinMac] SG NT Workstations for 3D?

Has anyone taken a good look at the new 320 & 450 Visual Workstations (NT)
being made by Silicon Graphics? Better yet has anyone tried the 320? The
450's are due to become available later this year, 2nd quarter, I think.

The 320's are single/dual-processor with Pentium II's and the 450's go up
to quad-processor with Xeon's. I haven't seen prices for the 450's, I might
be dreaming ridiculous dreams thinking I could afford to buy one. Does
anyone know how much better the Xeon's would be, regardless of the number
of processor's used? They are offering similar cpu speeds with each
different processor, 350-450MHz range.

I like working on Macs for graphics/Web work, and will doubtless continue
to use them, but I am at a crossroad with 3D work. I need much more power
and there are more programs available for IRIX/SG & NT workstations that
offer what I need...(With a price tag I don't need ofcourse!). I don't
think Maya is an option on my budget, but maybe I can scrape up enough for
SoftImage.

I have to choose whether to invest in some better Mac software (Form-Z &
Electric Image) and upgrade my Mac machine or really shell out for a whole
new system. If I choose the new system I need to decide between getting an
O2 or trying the new NT workstations. I am familiar with NT and already
have a range of software to run on that platform so I am leaning toward
that direction even though I have heard that the O2 is display is
"slightly" faster than the 320 Visual Workstation.

I am also wondering how Electric Image is doing in the market. They have
just released a new version at a greatly reduced price.

Any opinions, software or hardware related?
