[WinMac] Proxy Server Software--Small LAN--Recommendations?

Cable Modems (two-way) just became available in my area and I am
going to have one installed at home in about two weeks.

All the information I have, including the cable modem company say I
can share the service among a mixture of PCs and Macs over a LAN using proxy
server software. I have started looking into this and there are a *lot* of
proxy server programs out there.

I need to connect five machines (could probably limit this to 3
using the internet connection at once) 1 or 2 Mac and 3 or 4 PC.

I need to decide which proxy server program to use on a Windows 95
or 98 host machine. The major contenders seem to be Winproxy.net,
Winproxy.com, Wingate, and Spaghetti. What I need is a sure-fire solution
that will set up and work the first time around, with minimal upkeep. A good
manual, either printed or on-line, and good tech support seem vital. Primary
uses are web browsing, email, and multi-player gaming both over the LAN and
internet.

Does anyone have experience with these programs? Any advice? Any
others to look at?

Up to $120 or $130 for the software seems reasonable, but I am not
adverse to spending less.
