[WinMac] Steve is up to his antics... This time over IEEE 1394

Well, here we go again... Steve Jobs is trying to f**k chipmakers now.
But guess what? This time he may get his d**k handed back to him on a
silver platter (just like what is happening to his friend Bill Clinton),
because he's trying to treat Intel like the (former) Mac clone makers.

The comments below are a direct, letter for letter quote from
Ziff-Davis' Anchordesk... The same people who bring you MacWeek
(eMediaWeekly), PCWeek, Sm@rt Reseller, and Inter@ctive Week.

        From <<http://www.zdnet.com/anchordesk/story/story_3005.html>, as
written by Liz Enbysk:

<excerpt>APPLE'S HIGHWAY ROBBERY FORAY

The New York Times reports Apple will ask chip and system makers using
the 1394 interface for a $1 per-port royalty. If successful, Apple would
take in $3 for the three-port physical layer 1394 chip that costs $5.
Chip and systems makers are furious. An Intel VP protested to Jobs
directly. Our take: If Apple wanted to extract a toll for Firewire, it
should have made it clearer a lot sooner. Jesse says this is reminiscent
of how Steve Jobs screwed the clone makers. If he's planning to pull
tricks on the industry at large, he'll have a harder fight than he did
with the hapless, hopeless, helpless Mac clone makers.

[BTW, "Jesse" refers to Editor Jesse Berst.]

Please reread the last two sentences of the above paragraph... These are
Mr. Berst's and Ms. Enbysk's own words... Not mine.
