        Dear Milan,

        I'll reply inline for clarity...

Yes, as far as I know...

All of us on the WinMac list need to keep this in mind... Some of us
Stateside subscribers get "fat and complacent."

Actually, that is probably the best policy (and something many Service
Bureaus used here in the early 90's): Have the customers bring in native PM
or QX files, open them up on your machine in front of them, and then
perform the screen -> PostScript -> RIP (printer bitmap) operation
yourself. This way, you take the mis-steps out of the customers' hands.
Crap like layering mistakes are now under your control, i.e. what their
laser proof indicates versus the film that comes out of the processor. Go
ahead: Get the Quack or PageMaker files and "Take Control!"

Do your custom PPD's include all the installed typefaces, **including the
critical .PFM (PostScript Font Metrics) files?**

[Having the correct .PFM or Mac screen font will determine whether you end
up with dreaded text reflow. Remember, the spacing and kerning tables are
stored in the *.PFM file for pee-cee; and in the screen font for MacOS.]
