Marc,
This ListSERV is like the House of Representatives:
1) Consisting of knowledgeable people that are;
2) Highly partisan;
3) Strong willed;
4) Well educated
5) And who know both the strong and weak points of each side.
With robust discussion, without *personally* insulting each other,
everyone benefits. I've learned a LOT the last few weeks, not the least of
which is (from Alex) that LaserWriter 8.5.1's Desktop Printing can be
troublesome.
By "venting" we encourage vigorous debate. As long as we don't get into
personal mudslinging against each other, readers can learn from our
debates. The trick is not to make it personal! :)
There are (probably) about a thousand subscribers to this ListSERV; and
many "lurkers" are "soaking in" these debates. As long as we punctuate
these debates with facts as well as opinions, then *everyone* benefits. We
may not all agree; but we all carefully read each others' posts.
