Typefaces are a big issue. If you convert them as you suggest, you get
very irregular results (and typesetters are VERY picky!). And windoze
doesn't have support for ligatures, nor does NT have any system-wide
color management software (not related to fonts but a problem nonetheless.

Although NT does have a better protected memory scheme than Macs. Maybe
in OS X. And if you have an NTFS partition then the drive is sorta
self-healing. But the Macs make better use of RAM memory than NT does and
also when you update a file Windows must write the whole thing whereas
the Mac will only write the part that has changed.

This is just food for thought so that you can make your own decisions.
I've been working in the graphics industry for the last 6 years with both
platfroms and would personally keep the Mac.
