[WinMac] About StuffIt 5 posts

I see I am some sort of evil entity that must be punished. Very well.

I made an error for which I apologize: Expander 5 for Mac was available
right away. It was Dropstuff, which is very valuable to Expander, and the
PC version of Expander that were not available when Deluxe came out. I
should note, the 4.5 version of Dropstuff did not work with version 5 of
Expander, so there was no solution for using Dropstuff with StuffIt 5.0
products at all.

I do not have a vendetta against Aladdin, I simply think the above
omissions annoying (and unintelligent, which is the only term I used
about Aladdin). I use Expander every single day on both Mac and PC and
love the program. I, however, do not like being forced into upgrading one
part of a system of programs when the other parts are not available. What
if Apple or Microsoft came out with a new system, but the new print
drivers weren't yet available and the old drivers were broken by the new
system software?

As for the comments I made, I was trying to say Aladdin is smart enough
(not dumb) to use an older encoding format, so should everyone else.
Obviously, I did not say this clearly enough.

Thank you for flaming me, accusing me of libelous attacks on Aladdin
Systems, and disliking my commentary and (evidently) me personally.
Luckily I happen to have some hot pads handy to deal with the email this
weekend. I have not flamed anyone on this list; calling a company stupid
is not libelous; and my use of the term "many" to describe people who
have not yet upgraded to version 5 of these products was based on news
websites, where "many" people have written in to say they tried or even
bought 5.0 and have stopped using it until more people have it.

As for a comment by Ari that I implied Aladdin was doing poorly, which
must mean financially, what are you talking about? I went back and looked
at my comments and have no idea what you are referencing. And you accuse
me of inventing things and not 'caring to know'!

One more thing to apologize for: This message, which is not what the list
is about. But, I cannot accept being called unresourceful or a jerk
without a comment. Email is too black and white to leave accusations
alone.
