I don't have any experiance with CD-R(W)'s but I have had to deal with
VPC a lot and I run it on a PowerBook G3/300. Since what it does is
emulate a specific set of PC hardware which lets you run any PC
operating system you load on it, the configuration of the faux PC
hardware is fixed to what the program provides. One thing it doesn't
provide is emulation of a SCSI card. All its local hard drives and the
CD-ROM show up to the PC operating system as IDE/ATAPI devices, shared
Mac folders are treated as shared network drives. What it all means is
that I don't think VPC will be able to access the CD-RW except if it is
treated as just a plain old CD-ROM.

All is not lost though. I went and checked the manual for my copy of
Insignia's SoftWindows95 5.0 and it does seem to support SCSI devices.
I can't say if it would work for a CD-RW but you may be able to check
out the Insignia web site at <<http://www.insignia.com> and ask them.

Frankly I don't know what PCD authoring software is out there for the
Mac but the more that can but done on the Mac rather than the PC,
virtual or otherwise, the more headaches can be avoided.

P.S. How are things in The Flower City? I'm and R.I.T. grad and my
mom, Avis, is retired Kodak.
