        Thomas,

Please don't put words in my mouth. For eMail, M$ Exchange really sucks.
In fact, according to Anchordesk at:
 <http://www.zdnet.com/anchordesk/story/story_2896.html>, Exchange 5.5 SP2
is being released... But I still wouldn't recommend it.

-> In fact, I would like to hear from someone who is using (or considering)
one of the internet "appliances," based on Linux.

I also agree with you on the issue of having everything all on one
machine: My philosophy is to "Divide and Conquer."

As for the VPN issues, I too would avoid NT unless the data stream does
not have a high security need, i.e. the security holes in NT's VPN are a
"deal-breaker" if company confidential info is being transmitted; but are a
non-issue if you are transmitting graphics files. Also, there are two
levels of holes that need to be considered: Someone "peeking" at the data,
vs someone intercepting and corrupting the data...
