        Actually, A.I.R. 3.0.1 still works nicely. And if you run it on a 660AV,
840AV, or 61xx/7100/8100, the (GeoPort compatible) serial ports are
independent... And on the 61xx, 7100, and 8100 they are DMA assisted with a
2 megabit per second data rate.

        Personally, I like running A.I.R. on a 660AV with System 7.5.1 and
AppleTalk 58.1.5: Stable and fast; Cheap and effective.

        With Open Transport installed, A.I.R. has to run in its emulation
(compatibility) mode -- That's why I recommend AppleTalk 58.1.5, installed
with NSI-ZM 1.5.1.

        The product may date back to 1993, but considering that LocalTalk has been
pushed off the map by the built-in ethernet on the desktop Quadras
introduced in 1991 with the Quadra 700 and 900, 1993 would seem about right
for A.I.R...
