Unfortunately, this only works on one particular type of apple 14"
monitor. All other monitors, it doesn't make a difference.

However, it's possible you may be in luck, depending on what kind of
monitor you have. If you pop off the back, there will be controls on the
inside for, at the very least, focus and positioning. Some monitors also
have vertical and horizontal width settings. However, if this is an old
apple 17", it probably doesn't.
