It's .ppt.

But Win95/98 hiding of extensions doesn't help Brian. They still
_need_ the extensions, whether they're hidden or not. If he's saving
from the Macintosh, and intends for those files to be cross-compatible
with Windows, he wants the extensions to be appended.

Unfortunately, i don't know for a way to do this, unless there was
some Extension (the kind that go in your System Folder) that could
detect when you were in a "Save" dialog box, and automagically (based
on what application you were in) "type in" a .xls, .doc, or .ppt.
