I was just wondering how many of you were running
SP 4 and what your experiences were.

We are testing it on two design stations which are in a large multiplatform
environment. There is a problem with MacLAN which makes your system seem to
lock up. The fix is available.

You can get the patch from their website www.miramarsys.com. Unfortunately,
I cannot get in to their site at the moment or I would get you the exact
path for the patch.

Here is the readme which comes with the fix from Miramar:

Prior to installing PC MACLAN for NT, apply Service Pack 4 to your NT
system.

If you downloaded PCM40NT.EXE from the Miramar Systems web site
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

--
Run the self-extracting executable "PCM40NT.EXE" which will copy all of the
files needed for a full install. The patch has already been included in
this
download and it does not need to be manually applied again.

If you have the original PC MACLAN installation CD-ROM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

--
Copy the ENGLISH.437 directory to your hard drive then copy the patched
ATPP32.DLL to the \ENGLISH.437\SERVICES folder. Install PC MACLAN for WinNT
by running ATAUTOCD.EXE from the \ENGLISH.437 directory on your hard drive
instead of the CD-ROM.

If you already installed SP4 after installing MACLAN NT ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) At the WinNT logon, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and login as normal 2) When your system appears to hang, press CTRL-ALT-DEL again and open the Task Manager 3) Select File then New Task (Run) and open EXPLORER.EXE - This will allow WinNT to continue booting 4) Open a command prompt and change directories to \WINNT\SYSTEM32 5) Type "REN ATPP32.DLL ATPP32.BAK" 6) Copy the new ATPP32.DLL (found in ATPP_sp4.exe) to the \WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory 7) Close the command prompt and reboot your computer
