Cool. We've got NetApp boxes. They rock.

Ok, i've got an idea, but maybe it's too kludgy? But hey, DAVE can
get expensive, so:

Create a Linux box whose sole purpose in life is to NFS mount people's
directories from the NetApp box, and then share those directories via
netatalk?

i think it'd work... Or if you're disinclined towards using Linux, do
the same thing on whatever flavor of *nix you prefer.

Admittedly, you'll be taking some performance hits with all the added
network activity. Maybe consider having two 100BT NICs in the "Mac
file server gateway" box, one uplinked to the NAC, and the other to
the Macs' network?
