Hi;

We use an Exchange server for that exact reason, and it works well. If you
install the client on a laptop, just be sure that the personal folders it is
using is on the hard drive and not the server, that way a user can look at
their calendar without being logged into the Exchange server. You will need
to be aware that the client for Mac will NOT read both internet and Exchange
mail types... your Mac clients will need two mail programs if you use
Internet mail.
