Its like this.

We have a 20 mac network + 2 pcs.

We do not like PCs... :)

So... it came the time where Personal File Sharing could not hack it! The
mess was horrible.

In came a brand new G3. (got it REAL cheap)

Put the ASIP6 CD in.

Dbl Click on install.

Dbl Click on setup

we're running.

I think it took about 10 minutes.

Then I proceeded to start setting up users...

All the while I'm going GOSH this a great interface... I hope my boss
doesn't see this... He'll fire me and run it himself ;)

It worked straight out of the box.

We copied all the 20 or so Personal File Shared folders onto the
server... and started creating the great ETP hierarchy ;)

(we actually spent a bit of time thinking about this ;) )

Now when I do copies over the LAN we basically saturate it... Its fun.
And ASIP is great.

Its builtin emailserver is a bonus, and it keeps users in sync with mail
and works great. It just works.

The Print Server... I decided to play with this... unfortunately we used
an old version of ClarisDraw, which didn't like the TCP Printer Queue
interface.. :(

I have now got the ClarisDraw upgrade and am going to try again.

ASIP also came with DNS servers... its got a web server built in, ftp
server.

In short I can't think of a better solution for a Mac based business with
a couple of PCs.
