Yes, it can. I once downloaded some shareware product (Rainbow, I think
it was called) that was supposed to do that, there may be others. But you
need the real Atari ROM to run it. I didn't, so I never tried anything
with it.

You might call Toad Computers for advice -- they specialized in Atari
products (computers and game systems - yay, Lynx!). The last number I
have for them is

Read the All About Toad page, and you'll see how they evolved past the
(alas, poor Yorick) Atari on its passing. But I bet they still have
