[WinMac] VPC 2.0 on a G3

Several months ago, I bought and installed Virtual PC 2.0 (DOS version)
and then installed windoze 95 from a CD I have. It worked fine, but
since the primary reason I got it was to maintain file compatibility
without conversions with PC Word
97 files, when I got Office 98 on the Mac right around the same time, I
didn't need windoze anymore so I never used it.

Mid-July my primary partition suffered damage to the boot block, and I
rebuilt my system from backup zip disks on another volume, while I
searched for a utility to repair my HFS+ partition.

Being broke at the time, I waited for Norton NDD beta, and it fixed the
volume in a jiffy.

But when I tried to launch VPC, it gave me a msg (at the Finder) that it
was "not installed properly - pls reinstall from CD" so I did - three
times, same msg.

I trashed prefs, re-initialized the volume it was on, same damn msg. I
have emailed Connectix, but sofar they have been unresponsive.

Anybody have any tips, hints, theories, info about this?
