Leonard:

Actually, Sophos Sweep with the Mac InterCheck client protects the Mac
quite well, in two important ways:

1) Any files that are stored on an NT Server with MacFile services (and
NetWare, OpenVMS, & unix servers as well) are swept for Macintosh virus' --
Including all 5 forms of the AutoStart 9805 Worm. This option -- Scan for
Macintosh Virus' -- needs to be enabled, though;

2) The InterCheck client is a Control Panel that enables central virus
sweeping for connected Macs. However, if the Macs are not connected to the
LAN, then the Mac is semi-unprotected: You have to bypass authorization
failure to run any apps.

The downside is that it is quite expensive: A single server & 10 client
licenses costs $595; and a 25 user license costs $895. But with the CIH
virus floating around out there -- The one that reflashes the BIOS on the
26th, causing fatal hardware damage -- It's worth every penny.
