[WinMac] Retain correct time copying files from PC?

It's strange that the creation date and modification date are changed to
the moment you copy the file when copying files copied from PC to Mac. It's
rather important for me to know the date I edit the files. Is there any
ways to eliminate this problem.
We're using COPSTalk to connect to Mac AppleShare network.
