The short answer is that I don't think so. I'm going to be stepping a bit
out of my territory here, so if someone has more accurate information, they
should definitely chime in.

Basically, in order to use a protocol over a modem, there has to be
software to move those packets over the modem line. In the case of
AppleTalk, that would be Apple Remote Access (ARA). For TCP/IP, there's
SLIP and PPP. All of these are available for the Mac. On the IPX side, I
think there may be a Novell product that allows PCs to dialup to a Novell
router/hub thingy, but I don't think that's available on the Mac.

The only other way I know of that this could be acomplished is to run
Netware/IP on your server, which will then allow the netware server (I
think) to broadcast it's services over IP. Then you could install the IP
version of the 5.11 mac client (using the custom install). Once you can
access the Netware server over IP, you could use PPP to dialup to your ISP
and then connect to the Netware server (although very slowly over a 28.8 or
56k modem).
