Try removing the apple menu options control panel and see if this goes away.
I have seen a problem like this on my network. If removing Apple Menu
Options fixes the problem, then go in and delete the contents of the "Recent
Servers", "Recent Documents", "Recent Applications", the Apple Menu Options
preferences, and restore Apple Menu Options then reboot. If that does not do
it, you may have to try rebuilding the computer.

Hope this helps,

Tom
