[WinMac] [Q]ARA & RAS in one?

We have a situation where we're using a LANRover to connect our Macs and
PC's remotely using ARA and RAS respectively. Problem is the damned line
keeps hanging up and I (of course) am on the wrong end of the phone line
to be able to physically fix this.

Has anyone dealt with this specific problem and know how to fix or
workaround?

Also we're in the position to suggest a new solution. I would like to
use AppleShare IP on a workgroup Mac. Is there a similar IP-based
solution for Windows NTServer?
