microsoft's network client for DOS & Windows 3.1 does not support login into
an NT domain only to workgroups. however you can connect to the server if
the shares has 8.3 names, now from win3.1 you should login to windows with
the same user name as the user name in the server and then type the full
path of the share on the connection dialog (somtimes the browse feature
doesn't work) from dos in my experience it's a litle easier, you don't need
to logon in the same user name. aboute protocols, you can work with any one
of the three (NetBEUI, IPX & TCP/IP) combined or seperatedly, the TCP ip for
win3.1 is avilible as a seperate download from microsoft

I've got a similar problem only it's how do you connect a DOS/Win 3.1
computer to an NT Server? We have transitioned over from a Netware server
to an NT server. I've had no problem getting the Macs and the Windows NT
computers but not any luck at all with the DOS machines. Do you have to
have TCP/IP protocol? The Network Client for MS-DOS and Windows installs
and acts like it should work with IPX but I can't seem to login.
