If, like me, Jim is at a site where the network administrator insists on
encrypted authentication for security reasons, he could purchase Tunnel
Builder, which comes with NTS PPP Dialer. This ppp dialer supports
encrypted authentication to NT servers.

I think OT/PPP that will come with Mac OS 8.5 will also support this.
