A reasonable approach and in theory it should work. If not just kick them
off the list until they can behave themselves. Listserves have the ability
to set a person to nopost which means they get mail but can't send any to
the list. I don't know if you list software has the capability or not but
I've seen it used in the past very effectively.

I'll have to admit I prefer getting the messages as they are available.
Ever since switching everyone to digest the daily volume has dropped
substantially.

Did you switch the headers so that replies go to the original poster
instead of the list? I know that reduces traffic but it also reduces
usefulness as we don't get to follow or generate a thread on a particular
topic. Instead you just see a question and seldom see an answer. If the
original poster resubmits a summary that helps some but is not the same as
participating in a real discussion.
