I have made a page for my project at work. One of the pages is a GIF
that I used Claris Home Page to make into an image map, and when you
click on a name on the GIF, it links to a text file at an ftp directory
on the same server.
At work, on the PC, when I click on one of the names in the image map,
it opens the text file that it is linked to. On the Macintosh, it
downloads the text file to the hard drive of the person looking at it.
On my Mac at home, I tried telling Netscape preferences to have Netscape
open files with the suffix "txt" but that made no difference.
If anyone is willing to go look at tell me what the difference is, what
the problem is here, I would really appreciate it. The address is:
http://mermaid.spawar.navy.mil and the problem is on the page you reach
by clicking "Status" and then on the status page, clicking "SitRep".
(Don't expect to be highly entertained by the content of this site!) On
the SitRep page is the GIF of our organization chart, and each person's
name is linked to last week's status report in text format on an ftp
directory.
I would love to sort this one out.
(Plus I repeat my plea for any insight into how to turn on "Server Side
Includes" on the Win NT server this page is being served from.)
