NetDoublerNT is a software product from Asante (http://www.asante.com)
that works in conjunction with NetDoubler for the MacOS. In short,
NetDoubler for the MacOS improves network performance - it bypasses some
of the packet (?) size limitations and has options to use TCP/IP instead
of AppleTalk during a MacOS to MacOS client. To take advantage of
NetDoubler from MacOS to an NT Server, you NetDoublerNT. You probably
haven't heard much about it because it's not totally stable yet.
(Although the latest round of pre-release software seems promising.)
But when you think about it in the big picture, your NT Server is still
using SFM and now you've added another third-party product that is
specific to Mac clients only. Probably asking too much for most
conservative IS managers. DAVE seems to add the problems to the MacOS
side instead of the Server side - it makes it easier for you to blame
that #$&! MacOS.
PS: NetDoublerNT is about $500! MacOS client licenses are free with the
purchase of Asante PCI 10/100 cards. Otherwise about $50 a pop.
