Adam,

Not a stupid question at all...we went through a lot of heartache
recently finding out answers to a lot of these "stupid" questions
because we're currently migrating to Exchange from QuickMail.
The calendar dilemna:
The Mac Outlook client uses Schedule+ as it's calendar format (no
choice). The PC Outlook client, by default, uses the Outlook format
(although there is an option to use Schedule+). I'm not sure what the
consequence would be if you simply dictated that everyone use Schedule+:
you would maintain compatibility but what features would be lost?
However, if the PC uses Outlook format and the Mac uses S+, a PC user
who sets up his calendar and then moves to a Mac will not be able to see
his calendar. Note that this only affects cross-platform users. If a
PC user sends a meeting notice to a Mac user or vice versa, that info is
preserved just fine.
This fact, combined with the fact that OWA (Outlook Web Access) has
problems with enclosures (loses Creator codes and file types), led us to
dump the deployment plan in favor of Netscape Communicator: IMAP for
email and the browser solely for the calendar. This seems to be the
least painful solution.
And we're still learning...
