A Lovely Bunch of Al Jazzbo Collins and the Bandidos

"Treasure of the Sierra Madre" came out in 1948. The "stinking badges" line is great, but would Mel Brooks really remember it some 25 years later when he wrote "Blazing Saddles??

My theory is that the "stinking badges" line was kept alive, or really popularized, by jazz DJ Al "Jazzbo" Collins. Thanks to LJ Palmer, I've got some scans of an album that Jazzbo released in 1967. Sound clips should be coming soon as well, including this swearing in of a group of "bandidos" where they all recite the line together (not unlike the sample I've already got from KSFO in 1992).
